SAINTS fans are among the least optimistic of all the Championship clubs - according to a survey conducted by Barclaycard.

To date, over 5,700 fans have completed the survey and fans still have the chance to share their thoughts at www.barclaycard.co.uk/football The survey is being run in partnership with independent research body the Football Fans Census and final results will be available prior to the season kick off.

So far, Barclaycard Football's Fans' Survey reveals that Portsmouth fans are the fifth most optimistic in the Barclays Premier League.

But despite the club finishing in the play-off places last season, Saints fans are lacking optimism about 2007/08 - they are 18th out of 24 in the confidence stakes.

The national survey of 5,724 fans of English League Football Clubs was conducted by the Football Fans Census on behalf of Barclaycard between 4th and 18th July 2007.

The survey was conducted online and supporters of all 92 teams in the Premiership and Football League were represented. 48% of respondents were season ticket holders.

The survey will run until season kick off - the results shown below are as at July 18.
