DETECTIVES tonight arrested a man following the stabbing of a dad-of-one in a Southampton tower block this morning.
It's believed the person detained is the man being sought by police in a manhunt throughout Hampshire and Dorset today. He was arrested by police in Dorset but was expected to be transferred to police custody in Hampshire tonight.
As reported, Neil Hampson, from Merryoak Road, Sholing, died from multiple stab wounds shortly after being rushed to hospital by paramedics.
He is thought to have been fatally knifed following an incident on the 12th floor of Havre Towers in Weston around 2am.
A 25-year-old man arrested shortly after the death of Mr Hampson remains in police custody in Southampton tonight.
