A MAN was this morning charged with the murder of Southampton dad Neil Hampson.
Tony Paul Wilkinson of Merrow Avenue, Poole, was due to make a brief appearance before magistrates in the city today after the charges were brought this morning.
Detectives from the major crime department in Hulse Road have conducted a number of interviews with Wilkinson, 27, who was arrested on Saturday following the death of Mr Hampson from fatal stab wounds.
The father-of-one from Magnolia Road in Merry Oak, Sholing, suffered multiple stab wounds to the neck and was pronounced dead at Southmapton General Hospital following the incident at Havre Towers, Weston, during the early hours.
A 34-year-old woman from Verwood in Dorset arrested on suspicion of assisting and offender has today been released on police bail until February.
