Predictions are that Saints will survive
 |
| Nigel Pearson |
SIR ALEX Ferguson once famously called this stage of the season squeaky bum time' when it came to chasing a Premiership title.
Well, it's not just title hopefuls that suffer from it.
For Saints, the final six games of this Championship season could have a massive bearing on the future of the club.
They face a real battle to avoid relegation to League One - just five years after an FA Cup final appearance, UEFA Cup qualification and an eighth-placed Premiership finish.
Nigel Pearson's side do have some tough fixtures from which to get the points they require.
But they have been helped by the very inconsistent form of the other sides around them.
Trying to predict results is a nightmare and an experience fraught with pitfalls.
Nonetheless, fans everywhere will be doing it at this stage of the season.
By my reckoning, Saints will survive - with a small points cushion.
Read Adam Leitch's predictions in today's Daily Echo.

[bold]Saints will survive if Pearson gets his tactics right and again picks the right players for the right games![/bold]
Adam Hammill needs to be used wide right or left and for me Viafara needs to play in the middle with Safri otherwise he just as well sit on the bench!
1 Point should be the aim for Saturday anything more a bonus, anything less another nail in the coffin!
I wait with baited breath to see Adam [bold]Leitch's predictions if its anything like his match reports it will be pure fiction![/bold]

I agree that a point at Cardiff will be a great result. Lets hope they've one eye on the FA Cup semi final the following weekend. It would be interesting to see these predictions? I can see 2 wins at best at thats pushing it.

Just a query to all you Saints fans who were slating Burley and desperate for him to go...do you still feel the same or now accept the blatant facts that with him in charge you may well have made the playoffs, but are now fighting relegation instead?

Would be happy with a point agianst Cardiff away. We have a tough run in , but there's sure to be a few supprises, let's just hope they're in our favour. I believe we will stay up - just. Can't wait for the season to end.

Mystic Meg said that I was going to win the lottery as well!
I think that her prediction looks more likely than this one!

This isn't Pearsons doing, another manager might have got one more win but we probably would have lost some that we have drawn too.
Burley apparently (from a reliable source) booted Licka out of the squad because Burley was reported by him for taking training while drunk.
He then seemed to make team selections that surely only could have been made by someone who was p*ssed up at the time.
Pearson seems to be the kind of man who will have a chance of getting us up if we do end UP heading to L1.

i for one try not to jump on a band wagon but i am convinced we would have been bottom 3 already if george had stayed. Forgetting the freak that was hull we seem to have a bit of balls about us the last month or so.

For months I have been saying that the past is what the future should have been built on, and not lived in, which many on here appear to be doing!
It would have helped if SMS customers, who Claim to be Supporters, had shown their faces at the open meeting, to show the new manager how they feel, and ask the board all the questions that they put on these pages!
It is Now that you have to worry about, rather than behaving like actors at the oscars, patting yourselves on your backs for what you did decades ago!

I wonder if Scotland's players will play with the same fire in their bellies as Saints players used to perform under George Burley.
I don't think other teams in the world will be shaking in their boots.
