Pensioner fights for life after crash
AN elderly man is in hospital with life threatening injuries after his car collided with both barriers of a busy Southampton road this morning.
The link road between the M3 south bound and the A33 Bassett Avenue was closed off for two and a half hours while fire crews battled to cut the man free.
Police were called at around 11.40am amid reports that a Citroen Xsara had crashed in to the near side barrier before rebounding and hitting the barrier on the opposite side of the road.
No other cars are believed to have been involved in the incident.
Maintenance crews closed the road while rescue teams removed the man from the car and rushed him to Southampton General Hospital.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Totton Roads Police Unit on 0845 0454545.

What we want is a sort of Junior Website where immature and delinquent minds can place their rantings, leaving us on this main site to conduct a civilised conversation.
