Carer found man dead in his home

A SOUTHAMPTON man who was found dead at his home by his carer died of natural causes, an inquest heard.

James Gladwin-Stride, 88, was found lying against the door of his bedroom after he collapsed at home in Middle Road, Sholing.

Southampton Coroner's Court heard how a post-mortem failed to find conclusive evidence of any disease or injury which would have led to his death but that his heart was found to have degenerated as a result of his age.

Deputy coroner Gordon Denson recorded a verdict of death by natural causes.

I bet most hearts have degenerated a bit by 88. Good innings for him.
