THE Apollo Cinema in Fareham is hosting the fifth Adventure Film Festival presented |by Canada’s West this October – and once again all tickets are free!
Getting under way on October 4, the festival will screen the best adventure sports films for audiences to enjoy on the big screen and will be showcasing a mix of dare-devil feats and awe-inspiring demonstrations of physical and mental endurance.
The festival will consist of three themed nights being screened as follows: October 4: High Altitude Adventure, October 11: Action, October 18: Elemental Adventure.
Confirmed films for this year include Madagascar Maverick (Elemental Adventure), in which Adventurer of the Year 2009 Riaan Manser becomes the first man to circumnavigate Madagascar by kayak on an eleven-month journey tackling treacherous conditions, extreme loneliness and close encounters with pirates, humpback whales and sharks and Fly or Die (Action Adventure), the UK premiere of a brand new episode from the First Ascent series, in which Dean Potter combines his two passions of free solo climbing and BASE jumping.
