Three cheers for festival

THE sun shone, the live music played and – most importantly – the ale flowed.

Crowds flocked to the Master Builders in Buckler’s Hard to enjoy the buzz and atmosphere of a three-day beer festival.

It was a beer lover’s dream with a huge range of ales on offer during the event, in the grounds of the hotel.

Along with the clinking of glasses and the distinctive smell of hops, there was all the traditional festival fair such as beer tents, live music and hog roasts.

The fun started on Friday with an all-day barbecue followed by jazz.

And on Saturday, there was more live music, a local produce market and art exhibition.

The event concluded on Sunday with a laid back ‘blues brunch’.

Organiser Jackie Neylon said: “We had a great three days, with everyone enjoying the excellent live bands, produce market and art exhibition, not to mention the way the hog roast on Saturday disappearing in record time.

“Sunday was especially popular as the weather was so good – we had a record crowd and the barbecue was almost a complete sell out along with the all day brunch accompanied by some great jazz.”
