A NEW restaurant is putting jobs on the menu in a Hampshire town.
Harvester is set to create 50 new jobs in Eastleigh, and is now recruiting kitchen staff ahead of opening a new branch at The Swan Centre next month The popular chain has revealed it has signed a lease to open a new Salad & Grill restaurant – its first eatery in Eastleigh town centre.
The site is just a mile-anda- half from the Harvester’s nearest restaurant, at Ham Farm in Twyford Road, just north of the town.
Harvester’s senior marketing manager Alex Meyer said: “We are delighted to have secured such a fantastic site for our new-look Harvester Salad & Grill in Eastleigh.
“The area has great potential and we’re confident that Harvester’s unique offering will prove very popular here.
“Our new restaurant will be the ideal setting to meet family and friends, with a relaxed and casual atmosphere that people will want to return to time after time.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming guests of all ages in a few weeks time.”
The new restaurant is due to officially open on September 13.
It will join an increasing number of dining options at the revamped Swan Centre, which already boasts a Nando’s, Prezzo and Frankie & Benny’s as part of its increased evening leisure offerings.
The complex, which was extensively redeveloped as part of a £24m scheme that opened in 2009 to boost Eastleigh’s night-time economy, also includes a Vue Cinema and AMF Bowling.

Fifty jobs in the Harvester? They will outnumber the customers surely? How come there is never more than about four people working at Ham Farm at any one time?
Oh I get it...there is actually only 10 jobs and the hours are split among 50 part timers so the Harvester can avoid paying National Insurance!
Brilliant!
And not only will the low paid employees not have to pay any Tax or NI - they can have their wages topped up with Tax credits!
Great stuff!
As I am subsidising Harvester restaurants staffing bill through my income tax, can I get a discount off my meals there?

You don't get quality customers like that in a decent pub/restaurant.
What a dreadful shame! Just as Eastleigh is starting to ge better, they go and open one of these dreadful "restaurants"! And to think of the other good eateries we could've been blessed with.... Shame.

Truly horrid. There, that'll do their free ad the world of good!
