Leslie Howard at Turner Sims
1:07pm Friday 2nd May 2008
REVERED and much respected virtuoso Leslie Howard is bringing a special celebration programme to the Turner Sims Concert Hall on Thursday. Howard is, by general consensus, the finest living exponent of Liszt and for 14 years he was engaged on the largest recording project ever undertaken by a solo musician - the entire piano music of Liszt - eventually completed in a total of no less than 95 CDs. A feat which has earned him a place in the Guinness Book of Records. Next week he presents that composer's etudes, among the most difficult pieces for piano ever written. The programme also includes Beethoven's variations.
