Rihanna has sparked rumours she is reconciling with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown after they were spotted partying in the same club in New York

The Battleship star and singer Chris were spotted at separate tables at hot new club SL at the weekend, according to The New York Post, and Chris reportedly sent bottles of champagne to Rihanna's table.

Rihanna may have been celebrating after a huge billboard of her posing naked was unveiled in Times Square to promote her latest fragrance, Rebelle.

Chris and Rihanna's latest encounter comes just weeks after they bumped into each other at West Hollywood club Greystone Manor, when Chris was with his new girlfriend Karrueche Tran. Karrueche and Rihanna allegedly "shot dirty looks" at each other during the night.

Chris was sentenced to five years probation and community services after he admitted assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna at a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009.

Earlier this year Rihanna caused controversy when she collaborated with Chris, but she said it "made sense" and was "innocent".

Chris appears on a remix of her song Birthday Cake, and she appears on a remix of his track Turn Up The Music.

Rihanna said in a recent interview she is "happy and single".
