LEGENDARY magician Paul Daniels will perform at Queen Mary's Hall, QMC, Basingstoke, on Saturday, October 20, from 7.30pm.

Twenty years of primetime, top-rated TV shows aired in 47 countries testify to the widespread appeal and entertainment value of Paul's performance style.

His TV career has not been limited to performing magic. As a presenter, he has hosted some of the most enjoyable game shows on TV.

Odd One Out, Every Second Counts and the highly-rated Wipe Out have all had great success in the battle for viewers.

There was also the children's programme Wizbit, which featured a world of magic and wonder for the younger viewer.

In 1983, Paul was presented with the prestigious Magician of the Year award by the Hollywood Academy of Magical Arts before a star-studded audience in Los Angeles. It was a tremendous achievement, and he was the first magician from outside the USA to receive the award.

In 1985, his TV special, Paul Daniels' Easter Magic Show, was awarded the coveted Golden Rose of Montreaux Award by a distinguished panel of judges at the International TV Festival in Switzerland.

Also appearing in Basingstoke will be local band Slipstream.
