Trophy joy for Winchester

| WINCHESTER SECOND XI |
Winchester are England hockey's Second XI Trophy winners, writes Mike Vimpany.
They took time out from their Open Premier League Division 2 promotion surge to thrash Woking 5-0 in the EHA final.
Winchester, chasing a third successive league promotion, had scored 22 goals in the four ties leading up to the final.
They showed Woking no remorse, with Hugh Barnes scoring after ten minutes.
Goalkeeper Ed Heathcock showed his prowess with a fine save before Winchester took the game by the scruff of the neck to move into a 3-0 half-time lead through Sam Hibberd and Rob Ritchie.
Once Woking's second half rally was repelled, Winchester eased their way to victory - Richard Jones converting a penalty stroke and Kent Langridge scoring the fifth.
For a comprehensive roun-up of last weekend's hockey action, don't miss tomorrow's Hampshire Chronicle.
