CELEBRITY chefs in Winchester be warned - these children could soon be after your jobs.
The 1st Winchester Scout Group's Backwoods Masterchef competition saw teams of two-four people challenged to cook over an open wood fire at Sparsholt College.
Scouts and their families were divided into teams of two-four and challenged to first build the fire and then create the meal.
It was judged by Kate Hughes of Cook Academy in Alresford.
She said: “It was clear that everyone had put a great deal of effort into their recipes and dishes. And even I learned something - chocolate bananas seem to be a favourite with scouts!”
The competition kicked off the scouts' 'Bigger and Better' fundraising campaign to raise money to repair their hut in Weeke.
The group will now be bidding for grants and is appealing for help from anyone with experience of grant applications.
