Concern for woman near Basingstoke train station

CONCERN for the welfare of a woman led to the closure of roads around Basingstoke train station this morning.

Officers were called to Alencon Link and Bunnian Place at 10.20am to a report of a woman seen sitting on a ledge.

Police closed parts of the two roads while they talked to her.

Vicky O’Hare, corporate communications officer at Hampshire Constabulary, said: “It looks like there was concern for welfare of a woman but she is now with officers and is safe.”
