SHE has impressed the judges on Strictly Come Dancing, but Dani Harmer took off her dancing shoes for the afternoon to help a pub raise money for charity.

The actress, best known for playing Tracy Beaker in the CBBC television series, was joined by her family at the Frog and Wicket in Eversley Cross to raise funds for Make-a-Wish Foundation.

She signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans on October 28, as well as selling Strictly T-shirts with a picture of her and partner Vincent Simone on the front.

The 23-year-old who grew up in Bracknell appeared at the pub after her mother Jill organised the fund-raiser with pub landlord Mark Edgell, who she has known for many years.

Dani has been an ambassador for Make-a-Wish since she was 14-years-old, and said: “It’s for terminally ill children who make a wish and we make it come true. They do amazing work and send children to Disney-land or to meet Brad Pitt!”

Dani said taking part in BBC One’s Strictly has been “brilliant” and added: “It’s such a good experience. You have to take it week by week and hope you get the votes.”

The actress was in the national news last week when it was reported that she had non-invasive liposuction on her stomach because Twitter trolls targeted her about her weight.

But the size six star said it had been “blown out of proportion.” She added: “I went to have my teeth whitened and they offered this service. It freezes fat cells.”

She said the nasty comments on Twitter had not prompted her to have the procedure, adding: “I don’t really listen and don’t care anyway.”

Mr Edgell said he hopes the fund-raiser will have made £1,000 for the charity, and added: “We support Make a Wish anyway and have fundraised for them in the past. We are right behind Dani on Strictly.”
