Sainsbury's fashion show raised money for St Michael's Hospice
SUPERMARKET staff were transformed into models for an evening as they helped to raise money for charity.
Around 30 staff from Sainsbury’s, in Hatch Warren, Basingstoke, paraded clothes from the store’s autumn and winter collection at an event held at Aldworth Science College, in Western Way.
The fashion show was organised by the supermarket and Cameo of Basingstoke to raise money for St Michael’s Hospice, in Basingstoke. Those attending the event enjoyed a glass of Bucks Fizz on arrival, before settling down to watch the catwalk show with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.
Nearly 50 children from Hatch Warren Infant School also helped to entertain guests by singing a variety of songs. The fashion show, along with a raffle on the night, raised £1,200 for the hospice. Daryl Copper, store manager at Sainsbury’s, in Hatch Warren, said: “We were delighted to support St Michael’s Hospice with the third fashion show since 2011. The whole evening was a great success and it’s good to know that everyone enjoyed themselves.”
