The VIP guests meet the pantomime staff
SERIOUSLY-ILL children had the chance to enjoy a performance of a family favourite panto – thanks to the generosity of The Gazette and Anvil Arts.
The newspaper and Basingstoke arts venue joined forces to make tickets to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs available for children and families being supported by Sebastian’s Action Trust.
Susan Murray, from Chineham, her husband Simon, and their daughters Tabitha, eight, and four-year-old Molly, who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, were one of the families supported by the trust which attended the performance.
Susan said: “This is the first show we have been to together as a whole family and the first pantomime that Molly has ever been to so it was really nice to have the opportunity to go. She absolutely loved it. She was laughing and really enjoying it all the way through.”
The children also got the chance to meet the cast, which includes former EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin, after the performance.
Jane Gates, director of Sebastian’s Action Trust, said: “We are very grateful to The Gazette, which sponsors the panto, and Anvil Arts for giving us 25 tickets for families we support to use.
“It was lovely to be able to offer some of our more local families, and those staying for respite at our holiday house The Bluebells in North Waltham, a special treat at this time of year.
“We know that those who were able to go really appreciated the tickets and had a fantastic time.”
