A NEW mum had an unexpected early Christmas present when she was presented with a £50,000 luxury car.

Alison Budge, of Upton Crescent, Oakridge, Basingstoke, was handed the keys to a top-of-the-range Range Rover Sport after playing an online competition run by airport competitions company Best of the Best.

The 24-year-old was speechless when she was surprised with the presentation of the new 4x4.

The mum of one, who gave birth to son Archie in June said: “"I just couldn't believe it was happening.

“You always think about the people who win this kind of thing, how lucky they must be, and now I know. It has just left me speechless. I love that they surprised me with it.

“It was so much better than just hearing in a phone call and just felt like the most amazing Christmas present all round."

Alison, who married her husband Richard, a chef, last year, said that just a week before her win, she had been to look in a car dealership after a light on her car was smashed.

She said: “It makes you think and just to dream we went to look at the dealership because I just wanted to have a car Archie would be safe in.

“But we couldn't afford it and I always believe in having what you can afford. And then this happens. It is just unbelievable."

Best of the Best managing director William Hindmarch presented Alison with the car.

He said: “Telling people they have won and handing over the keys to their dream car is the best part of my job.

“The fact that Alison and Richard were window-shopping for a car a week before she played the game makes it even more amazing.”

If she didn't want a 4x4 she wouldn't have entered the competition in the first place besides, I'm sure theres a clause somewhere that states she must not sell it for a minimum of 'X' years.

No house under £250,000 is decent
£250,000 would buy you a GOOD house in South Ham that's just about it.

There are loads of decent houses under £250k. Its the people that live in the houses who dont look after their homes wherever they may be that give an area a bad name. Theres good and bad in all estates. Good luck on her for winning its about time we hear about good luck from those who have nothing better to do. Its a New Year so lets have a new start.

Congratulations to Mrs Budge. Whilst I don't want to appear to be the party pooper than some are I can't help but think that this will be a bit of a drain on their resources. Fuel, tax and insurance for such a vehicle will be massive. And if her or any named driver has points on their licence or if they have a claims history she may not be able to afford the insurance at all, especially if it's parked on the road in Oakridge. Unlike the first contributor I wouldn't tell her what to do but I think it would be a fair bet to say she'd have sold the car within a year.
