Witness appeal after road death

POLICE are appealing for information after a male pedestrian died.

Shortly before 5pm on Wednesday (16th January 2013) the emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian at Whiteparish, Salisbury, on the A36, near to the junction with Brickworth Corner.

When Wiltshire Police and the ambulance service arrived, it was found that the pedestrian had sadly died. Enquiries are ongoing to locate the man's next of kin.

Wiltshire Police Roads Policing Officers closed the road while collision investigators completed their examination. Local diversions were put in place.
