A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after she was involved in a collision with a car as she crossed a road in Basingstoke.
The accident took place near the Tesco Express store in Carpenters Down, Popley, near the junction with Bermuda Close, at around 6.30pm on Monday night.
The 47-year-old woman was in collision with a Renault Megane, travelling towards Popley Way.
She was taken to Basingstoke hospital with what the police describe as “serious but not life-threatening injuries”. The Renault driver was not injured.
The road was closed for several hours while police officers investigated the crash and recovered the Renault Megane, which had a damaged windscreen.
