3:59pm Sunday 10th February 2013 in News
A WOMAN suffered serious injuries after she was thrown from her car during a crash in Popley.
Police have released details of the crash that took place on the A33 Reading Road at 3.25am on the morning of Saturday, February 9.
It involved an orange Daewoo Matiz, which was travelling towards Basingstoke town centre, and a silver Ford Mondeo taxi, which had just turned onto the A33 from Popley Way.
The driver of the Daewoo, a woman in her 20s from Basingstoke, was thrown from her car by the force of the collision. It is thought the car rolled more than once after the collision with the taxi.
The woman was taken to Southampton General Hospital. Her injuries are no longer thought to be life threatening.
The taxi driver, a man in his 40s from Bognor Regis, was taken to Basingstoke hospital to be treated for shock.
Both vehicles were recovered from the collision scene for examination.
Witnesses to the collision or of either car in the minutes beforehand are asked to contact the roads policing unit at Whitchurch police station on 101, quoting Operation Agusta.
