Owner reunited with stolen cocker spaniel
A STOLEN dog has been reunited with his owner after a search was sparked across the media.
The Andover Advertiser reported that six-year-old black-and-white cocker spaniel Jarvis was taken from his home in Bullington, eight miles east of Andover, on Sunday, 30 December.
He was found after a member of the public in Bristol recognised him as possibly being stolen and contacted the owner.
The owner collected Jarvis last Tuesday, 19 February.
Chief Insp Simon Dodds, responsible for policing in the Andover area, said: “This is fantastic news for both Jarvis and his owner.
“We are looking into the circumstances of this incident and we continue to follow up lines of inquiry in this case and others.”
The owner of Jarvis told police: “I am absolutely thrilled to have him back home where he belongs.”
Two other dogs went missing and a number of suspicious incidents took place in other parts of Hampshire at the time of Jarvis’s disappearance.
Two working cocker spaniels valued at £600 each were taken from kennels at Longwood, Owslebury, near Winchester, and people were seen behaving suspiciously near properties with dogs at Beauworth, near Alresford, and at Alresford Road, Ovington.
All three happened on or around New Year’s Eve.
Dogs have also gone missing on walks and from gardens and then returned to the owners later in suspicious circumstances.
