Banking problems hit NatWest customers

A MAJOR banking group has apologised after customers faced disruption to their services, including withdrawals at cash machines.

Customers at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and its subsidiary NatWest reported problems with online and phone banking, cash withdrawals and debit card payments from 10pm last night.

It is the second time in nine months that technical problems have hit the group, after millions of customers were unable to pay bills for days last summer.

A spokesperson for the RBS group said: “We are disappointed that our customers have faced disruption to banking services for a period this evening, and apologise for that.

“All services are running as normal now.”
