HEAVY hail storms caused four cars to spin out of control along a Hampshire motorway last night.

Firefighters from Fareham were called to junction 9 of the M27, at 7.20pm, after four motorists got into trouble on the westbound carriageway during the storm.

The cars did not crash into one another, but one did smash into the barrier, leaving the female driver with neck pain.

As a precaution, firefighters cut the roof of her car to get her out safely and she was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital, in Cosham, for a check-up.
