HUNDREDS of fundraisers braved the pouring rain this morning to take part in Southampton's first ever Wrap Up and Run event.
Despite the wet and muddy conditions, more than 300 runners and walkers took to Southampton Common for the 10k challenge that aims to raise vital cash for Age UK.
Gardening queen Charlie Dimmock got the race started just as the heavens opened and she stayed to cheer on the runners along the route.
The Daily Echo-backed event was part of the charity's Spread the Warmth campaign which aims to make winter warmer for vulnerable people across the UK.
