THEY CAME hoping to walk away with the ultimate prize - a makeover worth £1,250 that will make them look ten years younger.
Five finalists had been selected from the pile of entries sent through to the Daily Echo for a nerve-jangling interview to choose the ultimate winner of the contest inspired by the Channel 4 programme Ten Years Younger.

And on the night it was tough to choose who should win: Dental work worth £600 from Inspired Dentistry.
A transforming hair and beauty pamper session with Simon Shaw and his team at the award winning Harington Storm salon in Southampton worth £400.
A wardrobe makeover from Southampton's very own "Trinny and Susannah" Michelle Norris and Amanda Mollison, the fashion advisers from John Lewis, WestQuay.
The chance to choose an outfit from John Lewis worth £250 - and the whole transformation will be featured in the Daily Echo early next year.
The judges - Simon Shaw, co-founder of Haringtons Hairdressing; Dr Peter Sanders, a cosmetic dentistry and implants specialist; John Lewis, fashion advisors Michelle Norris and Amanda Mollison and Daily Echo Woman and Lifestyle Editor, Kate Thompson, who interviewed each of the finalists in turn.
The judges selected Demelsa Healey, 45, from Winchester as the winner.
Summing up, Simon Shaw, said: "We were really impressed with all the finalists but in the end we decided Demelsa was the person for whom we could achieve the best results."
Nobody went away empty-handed - the remaining finalists - Sue Joiner, Kerrie Sandells, Jillian Onslow and Tracey Chinnery were all given goody bags containing hair and beauty products and a John Lewis voucher for £20.
