Bishop's Waltham pumpkin carving competition takes over town
THERE were some ghostly goings on in Bishop’s Waltham last night (October 31).
The town was taken over by a pumpkin parade after schoolchildren competed to come up with the best scary design.
The top 40 designs were carved into pumpkins which were then sponsored by individual traders and displayed in shop windows through the town centre, illuminated by battery-powered lights.
Children also looked the part thanks to face painting at The Crown during the afternoon.
It was organised by the town manager Heidi Isa and children from both the infant and junior school took part.
The pumpkins will now be taken to Hoe Road for a parade and display on Saturday (Nov 2) as part of the community fireworks display at 6.45pm.
