Public governors needed for South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
THE deadline is looming for nominations for public governors for South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.
The trust is seeking nominations from among its 13,000 public members for 10 public governor positions on its Council of Governors.
Of these 10, four will be filled by Hampshire residents, two by Berkshire residents, two by those who live in Buckinghamshire and two from Oxfordshire.
Trevor Jones, chairman of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Our Council of Governors is the voice of local people helping to set the strategic direction of the trust, based on members’ views, and holding the trust board to account.
“The current council works well but is determined to continue to improve, and we are looking for new governors to add new skills and knowledge to the mix.
“As a governor, you will play an active part in your local ambulance service, represent your local community and learn new skills. Particularly important is the ability to engage with, and represent, our public.
“The trust is committed to involving its diverse communities to ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality services that meet the developing needs of the local population.”
The closing date for nominations is tomorow. To be eligible to stand for election as a public governor, you must be aged 16 years or over, be a public member of the trust and resident in the county you wish to represent.
