Molly cat reunited with owners

A FAMILY has praised the efforts of big-hearted Andover staff who did everything they could to reunite a lost cat with its owners.

The Buckley family from Andover's Galahad Close lost contact with their pet cat, Molly after she followed them from King Arthur's Way to Tesco on 23 December.

But thanks to the staff at Cruise-In, based at West March Business Centre, at Enham Arch, the family and Molly have now been reunited.

"It was a beautiful cat and we took pity on it when it was pawing at our window after Christmas so we looked after it for a week," said Cliff Redgrave, at Cruise-In.

He and colleagues at the company delivered leaflets house to house, fed the cat, took it home and even bought it its own litter tray.

"When nobody came forward we thought it could have jumped out of a delivery van as it was rather a nosy, but well-behaved cat," added Cliff.

Happily, one of the leaflets displayed at the town's BP garage paid dividends.

It was seen by a friend of the Buckley family who knew their cat was missing.

By that time, the cat had been missing for 10 days.

With no sign of her until the friend called, the Buckley were absolutely delighted when she turned up for they were beginning to think they would never see her again.

"I am overwhelmed by the kindness that these people have shown to what some people may say is merely a cat.

"But she is part of our family, and both my husband and I, and our children have missed her terribly," said Carole Buckley.

"They have shown the kind of generosity which I thought had slipped away in this day and age."

But she added the tale was a lesson to pet owners to get their animals micro-chipped for although Molly is a home-loving cat she still managed to get lost.
