PLANNERS have given the thumbs up to two semi-detached homes being built on the same land near St Mary's church in Andover where Ford Cottage is due to be re-sited.
St Mary's Parochial Church Council complained that three buildings on such a narrow strip of land would be over development.
But officers told members of Test Valley Borough Council's northern area planning committee that the development had been designed to reflect the scale, height and massing of the neighbouring homes.
They also said the proposal would preserve the character and appearance of the Conservation Area'.
A previous application by Fenchurch Investments Lim-ited was refused because the proposed development's height, size and design was unsympathetic and discordant'.
Planning officers said the new designs represented a significant improvement'.
And Cllr Chris Lynn said: "How nice it is for a developer to take notice of what we say and come back with something nice."
