TOGAS and laurel wreaths were much in evidence at the Grosvenor Hotel in Stockbridge when a charity fundraising event took on a Roman theme.
The event, a Roman ball, was organised on behalf of the Mayor of Test Valley's charity appeal and many of those who attended were appropriately dressed.
"Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves," said deputy mayor Brian Page.
The Mayor of Test Valley, Mrs Pamela Mutton, made a grand entrance after it was announced the emperor had arrived and rose petals were scattered in her path.
The event was attended by a number of civic leaders from outside the area including the Mayor of Southampton.
