THE end of an era was marked at Andover College's Celebration of Achievement Awards recently as the final group of students who entered the college under its old moniker of Cricklade College were honoured at The Lights.

A total of 17 learners gained accolades on the evening with hairdressing student Kayleigh Chant scooping both the Personal Achievement Award and the prestigious Principal's Award for outstanding contribution to the college.

Guest of honour Sue Heath, a Professor of Sociology at Southam-pton University and former Cricklade College student, presented David King with the Nigel Spackman Award for Sport in recognition of his excellent attitude, good team ethic and ability to motivate others.

Tim Jackson, principal of Sparsholt and Andover colleges, said: "These successes are a great source of pride for the local community.

"On behalf of the former governors of Cricklade College and the new governors and staff of Andover College, I congratulate every achiever who has been invited here tonight. We aim to achieve excellence in all we do and tonight's nominees and winners have shown what can be achieved with dedication and commitment."
