A WINCHESTER author soon could have her own cereal bar on supermarket shelves nationally as she has reached the final stage of a competition run by Jordans Cereals.
Eve Elmes, from Harestock, entered the MyFrusli competition to come up with a new cereal bar and if she wins she could have her brainchild made into a real product.
Ms Elmes, along with 2,000 other people, entered the competition, which asked contestants to go online and come up with a new frusli bar by picking from various delectable ingredients and creating a name and punchy slogan.
Her coconut, banana, cocoa nib and Brazil nuts recipe, titled Co-Coa-Bra-nana', caught the eye of judges, Adele Silva from TV programme, Hell's Kitchen, and chairman of Jordans Cereals, Bill Jordan, and Ms Elmes is now one of 10 finalists.
She now needs the public to go online and vote for her if she is to stand a chance of having her concoction made into a real, Limited Edition cereal bar by Jordans, which would go on sale later in the year.
Ms Elmes, who is also an Anglican priest, said: "It'd be nice to win. I enjoy cooking and it'd be nice to have something I've thought up made into a real Frusli bar."
The top prize also includes winning a £1,000 cash prize and a relaxing spa break for two at the luxurious Kalmora Spa.
To vote for her visit www.myfrusli.com. By voting, you will be entered into a free prize draw to win some fruity prizes which include an iPod plus 100 songs, a £150 Mango gift voucher and a spa kit.
Voting ends on February 22.
