AGE Concern Hampshire is putting on a free information day about residential care.

The charity says that about one in eight people over the age of 85 need long term residential care and is putting on a free information day to help those affected by it on Friday, March 28, at its headquarters at 1 St Cross Road, Winchester.

Topics covered include residential care costs; powers of attorney; choosing and funding a home; and the emotional, legal and financial implications of long term care.

The day runs from 9.45am to 3.30pm and includes a buffet lunch.

Those who would like information on benefits, housing, health or care but are unable to attend can call the charity's countywide information and advice service on 0800 328 7154 from Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm.
