Kiska gets winning vote

MORE than 10,000 people took part in a website poll to name a rare Amur leopard cub born at Marwell Zoo.

Five names were suggested for the four-month old female, and Kiska was the winner, with 45 per cent of the vote.

The name means pure' in Russian, and was suggested because Amur leopards are now only found in the remote eastern regions of that country.

Wildlife experts estimate that only 35 of the endangered big cats are still in the wild.
