A BON Jovi-mad teenager who thought she had lost her chance to see her idols after a ticket agency went bust has had her wish granted, thanks to the Daily Echo.
Generous Mark Barrett decided to save the day by donating his tickets for the St Mary's concert after reading about the plight of Hayley Sheath, 14, in the newspaper.
As the Echo reported Hayley was left without tickets to see the American rock legends after the ticket agency her family used went bankrupt.
But after r e a d i n g h e r heartrending story, dad-of-four Mark contacted the Daily Echo to offer his two tickets.
Hayley, who lives in Hamble, met up with fellow Bon Jovi fan Mark to thank him for the tickets.
She said: "I'd just like to say a really big thanks to Mark. He was really nice and I'm really grateful and can't wait for the concert."
The Hamble Community Sports College pupil almost died two years ago following a mystery virus that left her needing a heart transplant.
While recovering in hospital she missed Bon Jovi's 2006 concert in Southampton so her parents promised to take her to his next concert.
But the family lost their tickets to this June's concert with no hope of a refund when suppliers Elite Ticket Shop went to the wall.
Mark, a manager of a building maintenance company, of Durley Brook Road, Durley, said: "I'm on holiday in June so can't use the tickets. I told them I didn't want anything for them but they said they'd donate the cost of the tickets to Great Ormond Street Hospital for sick children in London."
"It's funny because last time I brought tickets to see Bon Jovi in 2006 I missed the concert because a friend of mine got married and decided to take 12 people on a cruise."
Hayley's mum Selina, 40, a shop worker, of Criffe Avenue, said: "Mark's such a nice bloke.
We offered to pay for the tickets but he said he wouldn't like that so we are donating the money to the cardiac unit where Hayley was treated."

Mark Barrett just made the biggest mistake in his life - GIVING HIS TICKETS AWAY! THE CONCERT WAS GREAT, I SAW THEM AT THE START OF THE YEAR AND CANT WAIT TO SEE THEM AGAIN! All you people saying they are garbage and they would burn the tickets if they had them - you dont know what youre missing out on either! If bon jovi was so crap then why are they still around 25 years later??!! BON JOVI FOR EVER!!! BON JOVI ROCKS!!

Is that THE Mark Barratt leader of Bashley FC's frontline around the early nineties. He's a cult hero at Bash, maybe not so much now after he's come out of the closet as a Bon Jovi fan mind!
