A MEMORIAL stone for soldiers who served with a Winchester-based regiment is to be unveiled next month.
The Royal Green Jackets were formed in 1966, and were then merged into The Rifles last year.
Those who served in the old regiment, along with friends and family, are being invited to a service at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on Sunday, May 11.
The outdoor event will include the unveiling of a special stone plaque dedicated to the Royal Green Jackets.
The Waterloo Band and Bugles will be at the event, and those who attend will be asked for a small donation towards the arboretum. The wearing of medals and regimental berets is being encouraged.
Call The Rifles' London office on 0207 491 4936 for more details about the event.
