Following that logic, cars, motorbikes and lorries are dangerous and should be banned.

I'm not surprised it crashed, the wings have been fitted at different angles!

Good old Echo accurate on aviation as ever, the aircraft concerned is not a microlight, it is a homebuilt Evans VP-1 powered by a converted Volkswagen car engine, flown under the auspices of the LAA (formerly PFA). Microlights get a bad name but the modern ones are a lot safer than the originals!

Light aircraft are statically safer than riding a hourse....

Wonder if it collided with Prince William on a Chinook sortie? The probability of it being him are much increased due to his constant 'sortie-ing' around the country at the moment!

"Light aircraft are statically safer than riding a hourse...."

Probably because the only time they are static is when they are on the ground!

"Its not the micro lights that are dangerous! Its the Ground!"
Yes! Or more specifically, the edges of the sky i.e. where it meets the ground, other aircraft, water etc.

If we wer meant to fly we would all have feathers - Just look at Icarus how he crshed to Earth.

Bad **** old man - you tried and failed this time ... but you at least tried and I bet its great up there and to see it for less than a year in the pub must be fantastic. I fly and I love it but I would love a microlite
