STAFF at Iceland spent a week collecting for the Great Ormond Street Hospital in memory of a former colleague who died exactly a year ago.
Suzanna James was only 29 when she died on 29 April 2007 but operations at the hospital had given her many extra years of life after she was born with a heart condition.
She had worked for Iceland for a decade with the last five being spent at Andover.
"We have had collection tins and pictures of Suzanna on every till so that any customers who would like to donate some of their small change to the appeal can do so," said Marion Silver who worked with Suzanna.
"It was nice as many of the customers remembered her. She was a very bubbly person who didn't let her heart condition get in her way."
Marion say Suzanna would even be prepared to tackle the scariest rides at Alton Towers.
To help with the fundraising members of the 9th Andover Guides visited the store to assist with customer packing.
All told £1,101.30 was raised for the hospital.
