The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

JOSHUA DURSTON, 28, of Ludlow Road, Southampton was found guilty of two counts of drug driving on Manor Farm Road in Southampton. He was riding a Yamaha at the time. He pleaded guilty to driving without insurance and driving without a licence. Durston received a two-year conditional discharge and a 17-month disqualification. He was ordered to pay £930 court costs and a £26 surcharge.

RASHPAL SANGHERA, 39, of Lingwood Close, Southampton admitted to possessing a controlled drug of Class B and possessing a controlled drug of Class A on Above Bar Street. He also pleaded guilty to failing to answer to bail and theft from a shop after £44.99 worth of aftershave was stolen from TK Maxx in Southampton. Sanghera was given a four-month sentence suspended for 18 months with 20 rehabilitation days and 60 hours of unpaid work. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.

MARVIN POLLINGTON, 33, of Victoria Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to possessing a knife blade or sharp pointed article in a public place in Victoria Road, namely a scalpel. He received a one-year community order with a curfew and 15 rehabilitation days. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the scalpel. Pollington must pay £85 court costs and a £114 surcharge. 

JOSEPH ESEKA, 38, of South Street, Eastleigh was found guilty of speeding on the M3 near junction seven at Dummer in Basingstoke. He was driving a Fiat Tipo when he was caught by manned speeding equipment at 87mph. He was also convicted at trial of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver. Eseka was fined £180 and received nine points on his licence. He was ordered to pay £300 court costs.
