The following cases have been heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court...

VICTORIA MAKEY, 39, Bracklesham Close pleaded guilty to assault by beating of an emergency worker, namely a paramedic. She received a community order until September 26, 2025, with a mental health treatment requirement. She must also complete up to 25 rehabilitation days and pay £200 compensation. 

JAMIE TOONE, 47, of Lavender Close, Southampton admitted to theft from a shop after stealing £11 worth of coffee from Bridge Road, Southampton. Toone received a two-year conditional discharge and must pay £11 compensation. 

SHARRYN RICE, 51, of Blackthorn Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to drink driving on Compton Walk, Southampton. She was caught with 44 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath. Rice was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £120. She must pay £85 court costs and a £48 surcharge.

ZAK LEATHEM, 30, of Perran Road, Southampton pleaded guilty to two counts of harassment without violence after he repeatedly sent messages and made calls to his victim as well as attending her home address. Leathem also admitted assault by beating and common assault. He was jailed for 16 weeks and must pay £300 compensation. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim for the next two years. Leathem must also pay £300 court costs. 

ARIF ACAR, 35, of Christchurch Road, New Milton admitted drug driving a Volkswagen Polo on Christchurch Road. He also pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty. He was banned from driving for 42 months and fined £269. He was ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £108 surcharge. 

MARK OKERE, 23, of Wildren Lane, Hedge End pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply a Class B drug, namely cannabis. He received a community order until October 1, 2025, with 30 rehabilitation days and 200 hours of unpaid work. An order was made for the forfeiture and destruction of the drugs. Okere must pay £85 court costs and a £114 surcharge.
