Police have given an update on an arson arrest following a house fire in Freemantle.
A police cordon remained in place more than 24 hours on from the fire that ripped through the property in Richmond Road on Tuesday afternoon.
The property was still taped off at 8pm last night with two officers and a police car remaining at the scene.
Visible fire and smoke damage could be seen on the upper section of the building with police tape across the main gate.
It follows the arrest of a 62-year-old woman on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after the blaze on Tuesday.
Police have since confirmed she has been bailed as part of the investigation.
Firefighters used four fire engines and one aerial appliance to extinguish the blaze having been called just before 3pm.
Police also attended around an hour later.
Fans were also used to minimise smoke damage and prevent the flames from spreading.
