Kennet District councillor Alan Wood has been selected by the UK Independence Party to contest the new Devizes constituency at the next General Election.
Mr Wood, who formerly worked for the Property Services Agency on MOD construction and engineering projects, is a chartered engineer and gained an MSc degree whilst working for the Treasury.
He lives on Salisbury Plain and is chairman of Fittleton Parish Council and also Salisbury and South Wilts Canine Society.
