A CYCLIST was pushed off his bike and viciously attacked by thugs.
The 18-year-old victim was cycling home along Hanmore Road just past The Chineham Arms at about 1.45am on Saturday when he saw three men approaching.
One of the men pushed the teenager of his bike and, as he went to get back on his bike, another one of the men punched him in the face and stamped on his head.
The victim then managed to get onto his bike and cycle away.
He was later treated for facial injuries at Basingstoke hospital.
Police have released descriptions of the attackers. All three men are described as white, aged in their 20s and two were wearing hooded tops.
One of the men was short and stocky and the other two were tall with shaven heads.
Pc Alexander Cudworth, of Basingstoke police station, said: "This was a serious incident and we are keen to trace those responsible.
"We would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone who has any information about it to contact police as soon as possible."
