Youth football in full swing

10:36am Thursday 2nd October 2008

Toast sponsored Barton Stacey U14 had much the better of their game with Alderbury in this repeat of last year's cup final but errors cost them dear as Alderbury took a two goal lead.

Robbie Skeates and Ben Gardner pulled them level but two goals won it 4-2.

The U12s went to the top of Peter Houseman Youth League Div 1 with a fine away win at Tadley Calleva with two goals each for Mathew Woods, Oliver Coetzee and Taro Colloredo and one each for Lewis Sheldrake and James Burgess. Toby Giles kept his first clean sheet.

The U10s took the lead against Ludwig Leisure through a Kayden Morley thunderbolt before Ludwig scored twice. Sam Mills and Daniel Bearpark both then netted and they hung on for the three points with some superb defending from Hanna Dorey and Charlotte Burgess.

The U8s played Bourne Valley and took the lead through a superb Callum Giles strike. Bourne Valley battled back to level and the second half both teams played some great football but neither side was able to score a winning goal.

MT Andrew sponsored Wolversdene U12 chalked up their third win of the season at Winklebury.

Some slick passing brought a goal from Conor Lunn before Winklebury levelled and they were then denied by keeper Miles Slater. Wolves were rewarded after a 25-yard blast from Liam Venn ensured the win.

Phoenix U12 produced an awesome display of flowing football against Vernham Dean and goals came from different players including new signing Jordan Knatt.

Mike Cartridge and Scott Chalkley created many of the 14 goals but man of the match Matty Soper capped a great display with a hat-trick.

Wolversdene U14 girls began their season with a battling 0-0 draw against an impressive Down Grange side.

Despite being a player short Wolves were unlucky on several occasions and Marley Mitchell found Grange's goalkeeper in inspired form.

ASP Murphy Brickwork sponsored U15s began their Hampshire League season with a fine 6-0 win at Cowplain. Goals came from Marley Mitchell 2, Laura Gillbank 2, Emily Woodhouse and Lauren Nicklin with a super strike.

HBS Fuels sponsored Charlton Royale U15 started the league season missing four key players due to District School selection.

They claimed all three points against Amesbury U15 with goals from Ryan Steele and Matt Rickwood, but Allan Roberts dominated, claiming a hat-trick.
