A stay of execution for Saints?

SAINTS look set to avoid a points deduction – for now at least – despite their parent company going into administration this morning.

Shares in Southampton Leisure Holdings were suspended by the Stock Exchange yesterday morning, as they were unable to publish their half-yearly accounts, and the administrators were subsequently called in later in the afternoon.

Save Our Saints with the Daily Echo

It was hoped that by putting the club’s parent company into administration, rather than the club itself, the team would avoid the mandatory ten-point deduction dished out to clubs who go into administration.

A Football League spokesman confirmed that, as far as their rules are concerned, that would be the case.

And that possibility is a potential silver lining to the dark cloud of administration for relegation-threatened Saints as, depending on where they finish this season, a ten-point deduction could either see them sent spiralling down to League One or start next season in the third tier on minus ten points.

No excuses. All those who said that they would not return to St Mary's whilst Rupert was there - PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS.
There's now no reason why the game should not be a sell out. After all you are supposed to be Saints fans!

Am I missing something here, RL was chairman of Southampton Leisure Holdings and a director of Southampton football club. Michael Wilde is chaiman of Southampton Football Club, so what has changed, I know I will be accused of Whngeing, negative etc but I fail to see what has changed RL is still involved, agreed the prospect of a takeover and new investment is looking more attractive without the add ons that RL insisted on, but RL is still able to keep his nose in the trough, he is still there, as he was when Crouch and Wilde took the chair, as I see it we still have him around, can anyone enlighten me?

Surely our knight in shining armour has got to be out there somewhere. If people want to by QPR for christ sake surely they want to buy a club on the south coast Riviera! We need to show the club is worth investing in and a full house on Saturday is the way to show them. Come on Saints fans save your club by putting your money where your mouth is, Lowe & Wilde have resigned, no more excuses now!

Football fans are hilarious. Saints were not a club that could withstand a mass "stay away". We needed to survive in the championship for a few years and re-build. true fans don't care who is at the helm. Filling the stadium is too late now , money would be better spend down the road at Eastleigh....
well done all you "loyal" saints fans who soon will not have a club to "come back to".
talk about short-sighted.
