I agree with the likelyhood of the slow long term investment but the new owner will want the money of the higher tiers so I think we'll go forward fast but with solid sensible investment for the future.

I reckon with a couple of players this year to inspire the young lads they'll get to the play offs.

We just need to nail every chance and take every game from the very start of the season.. we can't afford lapses, excuses or lack of effort. We especially need to go in with the belief that we can nail anyone in L1.

Mark Wotte knows it.. you can feel it in his words movements and staying power.

If we are close to half way up the league by Christmas I reckon we'll romp into the play offs and we'll go all the way if we do.

With regard to the PG; rules exist at the FL about going into Admin and ALSO COMING OUT of it.

It is important when in Admin that certain bills are paid e.g. Tax Office and Player Wages etc.

While we were in Admin 2 important dates occurred that could have meant we started the season on more than -10 points.

On the first PG put up money to satify those bills although the rumours now are that they were still trying to "commit their backers" to the deal.

On the second, players were sold to obtain the money needed to pay those bills.

My concern is that the Swiss were at the "table" both times and didn't seem to be concerned that the Football Club could be hit with more points if the bills are not paid, why ?

Do you know what their plans are for the Football Club ?
How much money are they going to put into the First Team?

For me the decision about who is going to be our next Manager will indicate their direction for the club, if they stay with the clueless parks league standard cheap option from last year then I will be concerned.

I agree with what you say, But the main fact is that regardless of direction and amounts of finances, Saints will exist, compared to what could happen, I will accept anything at the moment.

i think every stand will be singing next season, we'll have quality owners and all we'll have to do is concentrate on whats happening on the pitch. the players will be a lot more relaxed as well! -10, we're just giving the rest a head start!

If you believe that all the pain of administration was not worth the end result of a new billionaire owner, and you would rather have watched Saints in Division 1 under the stewardship of Rupert Lowe, as the club continued to struggle financially, then all I can say is, we have completely opposing views. I am willing to suffer a 10 point deduction for a clean start on a financially stable footing.

To be honest, I couldn't care less if the new owners have billions or millions, the most important thing for me is that the club is run with some regard for the fans again. This was not happening under Lowe. He was treating us fans like idiots. If it turns out that these Swiss guys are no better than Lowe, well, we stay away again and keep doing the same until we get an owner that treats the fans with some respect. After all, the fans are the club. Owners, managers, players all come and go, the fans are the only constant at a football club. Without us there is no club. But I can't see there being any problems, any potential owner knows they need the fans on board for a club and their investment to be success. There are very few who are as arrogant as Lowe to realise this.

Still, to backtrack a bit, billions sounds a lot better than millions!

never had an issue with pompey fans...my hubby has friends there that support pompey and on his stag night got him tottally out of his head and dressed him up in a pompey kit and took photos...the following week said photos were on the works notice board saying "saints fan my@rse"...he wasnt happy

I think Robbie Fowler is injured and enjoying the sunshine in Oz, but someone like him, an experienced and professional player with a few years left in his legs would be great. Saints used to do it all the time when we were top flight which gave us some very sucessful years though admittedly it might be harder to attract someone now we're not but who knows? Mark Wotte may have a few contacts in Holland that could pay dividends in that respect. Anybody got any suggestions of seasoned pros that could come on a free?

A bit of stability and loyalty from the new owners - whoever they are - would be a welcome change from the the merry-go-round of the last few years. Sorry Fides, completely WRONG, Wotte is a cr*p manager and coach as most people could see last year. If the Swiss keep him he will be sacked by Sept/Oct because he is totally out of his depth coaching at this level. Yes I agree. Someone like Idiakez would have been ideal to help pull the midfield strings and bring on the youngsters. After Saints let him go I know he asked to help out with the kids for nothing while looking for a new club, but Saints weren't interested. Now without finding a new club he's gone back to Spain.

I was under the impression that although the bid was not from Willi/Isolde or the group itself, it was from a member of the family who have quite a bit of personal wealth spread amongst them. I've only got what info I can get from the press and boards like these, but I thought the Echo article made it clear that it wasn't actually the Liebherr group fronting the bid

Some facts for you Fides :-
Pearson - 1.23 points per game would have meant 14th or 15th in the table if he had been last season.

Clueless Wotte only averaged 1.05 ppg = relegation !!!!!

That story was on the bbc yesterday it also said the bidder was a Liebherr Family member and Mark Fry was happy to be dealing his group as a truly international outfit.

wotte took over a sinking ship and nearly kept it afloat his behaviour during his tenure has been exeplary, and he deserves our support! If he loses the first few games of the season I'll still cheer him along, after ten, if we've no points then I'd say make him academy manager and get a good, long term manager in. He deserves the fans loyalty, he's got a one year contract get over it and support him and his team!

I was under the impression that although the bid was not from Willi/Isolde or the group itself, it was from a member of the family who have quite a bit of personal wealth spread amongst them. I've only got what info I can get from the press and boards like these, but I thought the Echo article made it clear that it wasn't actually the Liebherr group fronting the bid

now its in front of the league certain aspects are not what we were led to believe.

With regard to the PG; rules exist at the FL about going into Admin and ALSO COMING OUT of it. It is important when in Admin that certain bills are paid e.g. Tax Office and Player Wages etc. While we were in Admin 2 important dates occurred that could have meant we started the season on more than -10 points. On the first PG put up money to satify those bills although the rumours now are that they were still trying to "commit their backers" to the deal. On the second, players were sold to obtain the money needed to pay those bills. My concern is that the Swiss were at the "table" both times and didn't seem to be concerned that the Football Club could be hit with more points if the bills are not paid, why ? Do you know what their plans are for the Football Club ? How much money are they going to put into the First Team? For me the decision about who is going to be our next Manager will indicate their direction for the club, if they stay with the clueless parks league standard cheap option from last year then I will be concerned.
