RESIDENTS in a Southampton community will vote on what health projects will receive up to £10,000 in funding tomorrow.
The Your Health, Your Community, Your Vote event is returning to Thornhill’s Eastpoint Centre, to allow residents to choose what projects and facilities they want to benefit their community.
Applicants are required to present their project ideas along with the details of what they require the funding for to an audience of Thornhill residents who will vote for those with the most potential.
This year 23 organisations have submitted applications to the Thornhill Community Health Fund and will each have three minutes to present their projects at Thornhill Primary School on Saturday, 11 July, from 2 pm.
Sandra Jordan, resident and Chair of the Thornhill Community Health Group, said: “Last year’s ‘Your Health, Your Community, Your Vote’ event was a great success.
“The residents felt truly empowered by having the opportunity to influence the decisions over how the funding was allocated.”
