Pink packs join fight to cut crime

CRIME-busting council chiefs have issued pink “burglary packs” aimed at driving down break-ins across the New Forest.

The free information packs, dubbed “Keeping Unwanted Visitors Out”, contain crime prevention advice including leaflets on home security and cold-calling.

They also feature a Property Watch window sticker and UV marker pen.

The packs come amid fears that burglars will target unoccupied homes in the New Forest during summer holidays.

Councillor Goff Beck, New Forest District Council portfolio holder for crime and disorder, said: “Burglary is a real worry for all householders in these times of economic recession and I hope that the New Forest Community Safety Partnership burglary packs will prove useful in keeping unwanted visitors out of our homes and bring some peace of mind.”

The packs are available in Forest police stations, libraries and visitor centres.

Is there some inference that all who live in the Forest are gay ?
No doubt you will be robbed while out trying to find a pack, they should have been sent in the post.

Just another load of
s**t from the Council
that does nothing about anything.
Maybe Mr Beck might like to do something,
anything,about illegal racing at
nights on a disused
World War 2 airfield.
This deprives prople
of sleep, but of course it's only been
ongoing for about six
years so probably the
caring Council, the
dutiful Police, and the Forestry Commission haven't had enough time yet
to sort things out.
All they ever do is send you a record sheet so you can write down when these things happen,
then, yup you're right,nothing.Just one more P.C.exercise
to make themselves
feel good.Crime busting Council chiefs, you're joking,
If we actually had a
Police force that gave a **** and a
Council that really did care about stamping down hard on
all crimes maybe things would be a tad
better, however all we've got is this bunch of ineffective
liars.Don't hold your breath on anything decent coming out of this
latest publicity stunt,any amount of
pink packs won't stop
burglars,as for peace
of mind try that when
sleep at night has been disrupted for six years,or when your house has been broken into and the Police don't bother to turn up,and your
crime busting Council
just sends you another form to fill out. Bitter, yeah, but
mainly fed up with all the bu****it we
keep on hearing from
people like Mr Beck.The N.F.D.C.
don't give a ****.
